About this fish
About this fish
Yellow Fin Fairy Wrasse is a home saltwater aquarium wrasse (Cirrhilabrus flavidorsalis). It’s prized for its vivid, active swimming and for how it uses the rockwork throughout the day. For many aquarists, it also adds pest-control support in the form of natural feeding behavior toward small invertebrate pests. This fish is a great choice if you want an eye-catching, fast-moving wrasse that becomes a lively centerpiece once settled in.
Features:
- Colorful, active wrasse that cruises the rockwork during the day
- Often reef safe; many wrasses help control pests such as flatworms and bristle worms
- Benefits from a tank with sand—many wrasses bury in the sand or hide in a mucus cocoon at night
- Strong jumper—keep a tight lid to help prevent escapes
- Best acclimated slowly when it arrives, with a quiet place to settle in
- Eats a varied meaty diet when offered (frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and quality pellets)
