About this fish

About this fish

Solar Fairy Wrasse is a marine wrasse for the home saltwater aquarium (Cirrhilabrus solorensis). It’s an active, rockwork-cruising fish valued for its lively behavior and for being generally compatible with many reef setups, while also helping with certain aquarium pests. In a well-established tank, it can be a colorful, engaging centerpiece fish that spends much of the day swimming and investigating the aquascape.

Features:

  • Active wrasse that cruises and patrols the rockwork for much of the day
  • Many wrasses are considered reef safe and can help with pest management such as flatworms and bristle worms
  • Usually benefits from a sand bed, since wrasses may bury in the sand or settle into a mucus cocoon at night
  • Needs a secure aquarium lid because wrasses are strong jumpers
  • Typically does best with varied, protein-rich foods and regular feedings
  • Take care during acclimation; provide a quiet place for it to settle after arrival
  • Helps bring movement to mid-to-lower display areas where it can browse and swim through rock gaps
