About this fish
About this fish
Disappearing Wrasse is a saltwater wrasse (Pseudocheilinus evanidus) designed for the home reef or fish-only aquarium. As an active swimmer that stays close to the rockwork, it brings constant movement to the tank and can also help with the natural balance by feeding on common nuisance items. In a properly prepared setup, it makes an engaging, personable addition for aquarists who enjoy schooling and rock-hopping fish behavior.
Features:
- Active, rock-cruising behavior that adds continuous interest to the aquarium
- Many wrasses are considered reef safe and can be compatible with a range of community tank plans
- May help control certain pests such as flatworms and bristle worms
- Good feeding response to common prepared and frozen foods including mysis, brine shrimp, and quality pellets
- Nocturnal behavior may include hiding, so providing ample rock cover supports confidence
- Many wrasses bury in the sand or hide in a mucus cocoon at night, making a sand bed beneficial
- Tight-lid aquariums are important because wrasses are strong jumpers
- Slow acclimation and a quiet settling spot help reduce stress after arrival
Specifications:
