Who we are
Tropical Fish and Coral is an online store for marine fish, corals, invertebrates and aquarium supplies. You can reach us by email at info@tropicalfishandcoral.com or by phone at (435) 301-2625. Our mailing address is 660 W. Mariposa Dr., St. George, UT 84737-5608.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number and the items you buy. We need these to take, ship and support your order.
- When you pay: card payments are handled by Stripe on its own secure payment page. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe tells us the payment went through, with basic details such as the card type and its last four digits.
- If you create an account: your login details and order history.
- When you contact us: your name, email address and message.
- If you subscribe to our tips and tutorials: your email address and when you confirmed your subscription.
- Automatically: like most websites, our web server records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and working.
Cookies
We use cookies the shop needs to work: to remember what is in your cart, to keep you signed in to your account, and to remember that you already rated a tutorial. Our shop software also notes how you found us (for example a search engine or a link) and attaches it to your order, so we know which of our efforts work. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not let advertisers track you on our site.
How we use your information
- To process, ship and support your orders, including emails about your order and its delivery.
- To answer your questions.
- To send our tips and tutorials, only if you subscribed and confirmed your subscription.
- To prevent fraud and keep our website secure.
- To keep the records the law requires, such as for taxes.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:
- Our suppliers, some of which ship orders straight to you: your name, shipping address, phone number and the items ordered.
- Shipping carriers (such as FedEx and UPS): your shipping address and the package details, to price and deliver your order.
- Stripe, our payment processor: the payment details you enter on its payment page, which Stripe handles under its own privacy policy.
- Our web host and email provider, which run our website and send our emails.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Emails from us
We email you about your orders. We only send tips, tutorials or news if you subscribed and confirmed. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to stop at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes. We keep your newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe, and messages you send us for as long as we need them to help you.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it (we may need to keep order records the law requires us to keep). Email us at info@tropicalfishandcoral.com. Depending on where you live, for example California, you may have further rights under your state’s law, and we will honor them. We do not sell personal information.
Security
Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, card payments happen on Stripe’s secure page, and access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to run the shop. No website can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Our shop is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
