Live phytoplankton for sale
Phytoplankton are tiny single-celled algae that float in the water. Our live phytoplankton for sale is food for copepods, filter-feeding corals, clams and feather dusters. So it feeds the whole tank, from the bottom of the food chain up.
How to use phytoplankton
Shake the bottle well, then dose it into a high-flow area of the tank. Many reefers dose a few times a week. However, start with a small amount, because too much can feed nuisance algae.
Store live phytoplankton in the fridge, and shake it every day or two to keep it healthy.
Common questions
Do I need phytoplankton if I have copepods?
It helps a lot. Phytoplankton is the main food copepods need to breed. Browse our copepods to pair them.
