CaribSea Arag-Alive Special Grade Reef Sand 20lb (00790)

Product details

CaribSea Arag-Alive Special Grade Reef Sand 20lb (00790) is a reef aquarium substrate designed for use in marine tanks. It provides a sand bed for aquascaping and helps support biological function in the aquarium by encouraging beneficial bacteria within the substrate. This can be useful when setting up a new saltwater system, as well as for ongoing maintenance of a stable, reef-like environment.

Features:

• Arag-Alive substrate is intended to help maintain a proper pH for aquarium life without relying on constant chemical additions
• Designed to help create a biological balance that may discourage nuisance algae
• Includes bacteria packaged with the substrate, described as “millions of bacteria per pound” for waste reduction
• Engineered to help suppress “new tank syndrome” by supporting and compressing the ammonia cycle
• Special Grade Reef Sand uses a typical grain size range that supports a natural-looking sand bed
