Seachem Matrix 250mL (116) is a high-porosity aquarium biomedia designed to support efficient biological water filtration. It provides extensive surface area for beneficial bacteria that help process nitrogenous waste—commonly including ammonia and nitrite—and it is also used to support denitrifying bacteria for nitrate reduction. Practical use: place Matrix™ in a filter where water flow passes through the media, so the biofilm that forms on and within the porous structure can help maintain cleaner water chemistry between water changes.
