Seachem Dry Marine Buffer 500g (343) is a dry blended buffering additive for saltwater aquariums. Its practical use is to raise and stabilize marine pH to a target of 8.3, helping counter normal pH shifts that can occur as aquarium chemistry changes (for example, during water changes). Because it is formulated as a blended buffer (not only sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate), it’s designed to hold pH at 8.3 safely and consistently in marine systems. Use it alongside Seachem’s marine testing so you can verify pH and total alkalinity rather than guessing.
Features:
- Raises and maintains marine pH at 8.3 in saltwater aquariums
- Formulated as a blended marine buffer, not just sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate
- Designed not to raise pH above 8.3 even if inadvertently overdosed
- Includes borate to add buffering stability
- Includes magnesium to help alleviate precipitation effects
- Contains a mix of carbonate/bicarbonate and salt components, including sodium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, potassium, and chloride/sulfate constituents
- Marine Buffer is intended to be monitored with marine pH and alkalinity testing for best results
