Seachem Discus Buffer 500g (263) is a freshwater water conditioning additive designed to help replicate the low pH, low GH environment commonly associated with discus aquariums. In practical use, it lowers pH, helps keep it lowered, and softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium—useful when preparing water for water changes or when dialing in a more acidic, soft water profile. It’s also intended to be used as part of a broader discus routine, including restoring trace elements with Discus Trace and feeding with NutriDiet Discus Flakes. For targeted pH adjustments, Discus Buffer® can be used alongside Neutral Regulator® to reach a desired pH when topping off or changing water.
