Seachem Alkaline Buffer 300g (236) is a non-phosphate buffering additive designed to raise pH and alkalinity (KH) while helping stabilize carbonate/bicarbonate buffering in freshwater aquariums. It’s intended for planted aquariums and for very hard water situations where phosphate buffers may contribute to algae growth or water cloudiness. Using carbonate/bicarbonate chemistry, it buffers water in a target pH range of about 7.2 to 8.5, supporting a more consistent freshwater environment. It can also be paired with Seachem Acid Buffer as part of a buffering approach for managing pH and alkalinity.
