Seachem Acid Buffer 600g (243) is a non-phosphate aquarium buffer made to lower and stabilize pH for planted aquariums and for very hard water scenarios where phosphate buffering can contribute to algae or cloudiness concerns. In practical use, it is paired with Alkaline Buffer to help manage pH while also turning carbonate alkalinity (KH) into available CO2 for plants. Rather than simply pushing pH downward, Acid Buffer works as part of a buffering system intended to operate in the 6.0–8.0 range when used together, helping you aim for more consistent water conditions in aquascapes that benefit from CO2 availability.
