Pure Filter Start Gel – Evolution Aqua is a live, concentrated bacteria culture in a gel form designed for use in new pond filters. It helps coat new filter media so beneficial nitrifying bacteria can colonise the media more quickly, supporting the early stages of filter maturation. In practice, it’s used when setting up a new system to help the filter begin converting harmful nitrogen compounds sooner, which can mean less stress for pond fish while the biological filter establishes.
