About this fish
About this fish
Magnificent Foxface is a marine rabbitfish for the home saltwater aquarium, sold under the scientific name Siganus magnificus. As an herbivorous grazer, it’s well-suited to helping manage algae growth and keeping your rockwork looking cleaner, while also adding an active, browsing fish to a compatible community tank.
Features:
- Herbivorous grazer that helps consume algae and supports cleaner-looking rockwork
- Generally peaceful with other fish, making it a good community choice
- Eats a mix of aquarium-available herbivores foods including algae sheets, seaweed, and herbivore pellets
- Will also take some frozen foods to add variety to its diet
- Spiny fin defense: its fin spines are venomous, so use caution when working in the tank
- Needs a large tank with open swimming space to roam comfortably
- Acclimate slowly and provide a quieter spot in the aquarium to help it settle when first introduced
