Fritz Slime Out 10ct (03990) is a water treatment used to help remove unattractive cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) staining from aquarium systems. It’s designed for practical outbreak control, targeting cyanobacteria strains including blue-green, black, red, and bubble types, while fitting into an existing saltwater routine for fish, corals, plants, and invertebrates. In use, it’s paired by many hobbyists with FritzZyme 360 or 460 as part of a broader approach to reduce nutrients and help prevent future outbreaks.
Features:
- Helps remove stains associated with cyanobacteria outbreaks (including blue-green, black, red, and bubble cyanobacteria)
- Made for saltwater aquarium use and stated as safe for invertebrates, corals, plants, and fish species
- Does not inhibit nitrifying bacteria and is described as not impacting biological filtration
- Suggested to complement FritzZyme 360 or FritzZyme 460 to support nutrient reduction
- Recommended steps include increasing aeration or water flow during treatment
- Carbon and ion-exchange resins should be removed during treatment; water flow/aeration should be maintained
- If foaming is a concern, skimmer adjustments may be needed; UV sterilizers are recommended to be discontinued during the treatment period
Specifications:
