Fritz Catappa Leaves 10PK

Product details

Fritz Catappa Leaves 10PK (11114) are aquarium botanicals made from catappa (Terminalia catappa) leaves, used to enrich the water with natural tannins. In freshwater and brackish setups, they’re commonly added to help create a blackwater-style environment, provide natural shelter and cover for fish, shrimp, and fry, and offer beneficial benefits associated with tannins in aquarium systems.

Features:

• Adds natural tannins that can help create a blackwater biotope look and feel
• May help inhibit some common fungal and bacterial issues in aquarium environments
• Tannins can help slow or limit algae growth in some tanks
• Provides shade and hiding places, which can support comfort and natural behaviors for fish, shrimp, and fry
• Leaves can also serve as a grazing/foraging food source for some ornamental shrimp kept in aquariums
• Often used in community and breeding-oriented aquariums to support conditions preferred by species that do well in softer, lower-pH water
