Product details
ESV B-Ionic Buffer 2 Gal is a two-component liquid supplement system designed to help maintain calcium and carbonate alkalinity in reef and other saltwater aquariums. In routine use, you dose equal volumes of Component A (carbonate alkalinity) and Component B (calcium) to support calcification and to help restore inorganic ions that can be lost during normal aquarium processes. The system is formulated to provide calcium and carbonate alkalinity, and it is also intended to supply major, minor, and trace elements in ratios meant to duplicate natural seawater composition. It contains no phosphates or nitrates, and it uses a “no-mixing-powders” approach intended to keep ionic balancing straightforward when dosed as directed.
Features:
- Two-component liquid dosing: use equal volumes of Component A and Component B
- Supports calcium and carbonate alkalinity for calcification-driven needs
- Intended to provide major, minor, and trace elements in natural seawater ratios
- Contains no phosphates or nitrates
- Dose guidance is based on aquarium capacity, with starting-dose and testing adjustments
- Includes limits to help protect against excessive dosing and excessive pH
Specifications:
- Product name: ESV B-Ionic Buffer 2 Gal
- Format: 2 x 1 gal bottles (two-component system)
- Starting daily dose: 1 ml of each component per 4 gallons of aquarium capacity per day
- Alkalinity target range (test daily at first): 3.0 to 3.75 meq/L (8.4 to 10.5 dKH)
- Maximum daily limit: Never add more than 1 ml per gallon of each component in a 24 hour period
- pH limit: Never allow pH to rise above 8.45
- Component A (Carbonate Alkalinity) concentration: 2800 meq/L (7840 dKH)
- Component A effect: 1 ml per gallon raises alkalinity by 0.74 meq/L (2.07 dKH)
- Component B (Calcium) concentration: 54,000 ppm calcium ion
- Component B effect: 1 ml per gallon raises calcium concentration by 16 ppm
