CaribSea Rubble Zone 1 Gallon (00532) is an aragonitic rock/bio-support media designed for aquariums and other water systems. It’s made of manageable rubble fragments you can place to anchor small coral frags, build attractive bottom displays, and create biological “cryptic” zones where detritus and microfauna can thrive. Because it’s aragonitic, it’s commonly used as a supportive substrate/rock material in both freshwater and marine setups, including refugiums and filtration-related applications. Fragments can also be used to help create burrowing and cover spaces in tank bottoms when combined with fine grain substrate.
Features:
- Aragonitic rubble media suitable for a variety of freshwater and marine applications
- Use the fragments to anchor coral frags or to build clustered, natural-looking display areas
- Ideal for refugiums as a bottom substrate to support macroalgae holdfasts and benthic microfauna
- Can be used to form cryptic zones for shy inhabitants, including in sump areas with appropriate water flow
- Works well for creating burrowing-friendly areas when combined with fine-grain sand to fill gaps and reach the desired bottom depth
- Can be placed in filter areas for biological support and aragonite-related pH buffering support in appropriate systems
- Suitable for pond filter applications where biological and pH support is desired
