Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacterSTARTXLM 250ml (BACSTARTXLM250) – Nitrifying Bioculture is a live tank starter culture intended to help establish and maintain biological filtration in aquarium systems. In practical terms, it’s used when setting up a new marine fish or reef aquarium, helping support the development of nitrifying bacteria that process ammonia and nitrite. It can also be used when the established bacteria population has been disrupted, such as after major maintenance, substrate or biological media cleaning, moving/rearranging, or after events that may reduce beneficial bacteria. It is likewise used in brackish aquarium setups where nitrification needs to be established or re-established.
