Seachem Matrix Carbon 500mL (103) is an activated carbon filter media designed for aquarium use where you want to remove dissolved organics and improve overall water clarity through chemical filtration. It is formed as spherical beads to help maintain strong flow through your filter rather than packing down. MatrixCarbon™ is described as a macroporous, bituminous coal-based carbon with high-density macroporous binding sites, supporting efficient adsorption of aquarium organics over time. It also has very low ash content, which the manufacturer states helps keep pH stable (even when tested in distilled water, it does not raise pH above 7.0).
