Seachem PhosGuard 100mL Bagged (185) is a Seachem water-care media designed to rapidly remove phosphate and silicate from aquarium water. It’s used to help control dissolved nutrients that can contribute to nuisance algae and to support clearer, more stable water conditions in both marine and freshwater aquaria. As a group-level guidance, it is generally described as operating better in saltwater, while phosphate buffered freshwater is not recommended because it can remove the buffer until the media is saturated.
