Product details
Kolar Labs GFO Bayoxide E33 250g (0.55lb) is a granular ferric oxide (GFO) filter media used to help reduce phosphate in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. In practice, phosphate reduction can support clearer water and can help limit the conditions that drive nuisance algae by removing one of algae’s key nutrients. This media is typically used in a dedicated media reactor, or placed in a filter sock, canister filter, or filter cartridge so water passes through the granules for adsorption.
Features:
- GFO-based phosphate reducer designed to adsorb dissolved phosphate from aquarium water
- Helps lower phosphate to support a healthier aquarium environment for fish, coral, and other aquatic life
- Often used as part of algae-control efforts by removing a nutrient source
- Granular format can be used in common filter setups such as reactors, filter socks, canister filters, and filter cartridges
- Suitable for both fresh and saltwater systems, including reef-style aquariums
