Teal Soul Favia

About this coral

Teal Soul Favia is an LPS coral commonly sold in the Favia group (often described as a “brain coral”). In an aquarium, it’s appreciated for its textured, fleshy coral surface and the way it grows from a solid base while housing symbiotic photosynthetic algae. Practical use: place it where it can receive suitable light and gentle circulation so its polyps can extend reliably, and keep it in a stable, reef-style setup alongside other non-aggressive tankmates.

Features:

• LPS “brain coral” form with a durable, stony skeleton that supports ongoing growth in an established reef aquarium
• Often considered among the more forgiving LPS groups when kept in stable water conditions (general guidance for Favia-style corals)
• Uses light for photosynthesis, making consistent aquarium lighting important for healthy appearance
• Benefits from moderate, non-blasting water movement to keep detritus from settling and to support tissue health
• Typically grows best when placed on rock where it can be secured and not constantly contacted by stronger-flowing powerheads
• Feeding benefits vary by tank, but these corals generally rely on their symbionts and may also accept small foods during polyp extension
• Helps create a visually rich, low-to-medium flow focal point in many mixed reef aquascapes
