Product details
Seachem Aquavitro Reef Calcification 350mL (7551) is a reef aquarium additive formulated to restore and maintain calcium for calcifying organisms. It blends readily available ionic calcium with gluconate-complexed calcium (a bioavailable form) to help support calcium levels found in natural seawater. In practice, it’s used to help prevent calcium precipitation and help avoid alkalinity depletion, which can be challenging as corals and coraline algae demand calcium in a closed system.
Features:
- Concentrated formula combines ionic calcium with gluconate-complexed calcium for convenient calcium supplementation
- Designed to restore and maintain calcium to levels associated with natural seawater in reef aquariums
- Helps prevent calcium precipitation and alkalinity depletion during reef growth
- Supports calcification of corals and growth of coraline algae under general reef use
- Gluconate-complexed calcium is intended to be absorbed readily while minimizing the need for excessively high calcium concentrations
- Contains a gluconate polymer that is described as beneficial as a food source for corals and other invertebrates
- Also described as supporting denitrifying bacteria and promoting natural anaerobic denitrification in live rock and substrate
- Stated to be compatible with daily dosing and with Seachem’s eight.four and the Aquavitro Reef line timing/cycling approach
