Popeye Catalufa Large

About this fish

Popeye Catalufa Large is a saltwater reef-fish sold as the catalufa, scientifically identified as Pristigenys serrula. In a home aquarium, it’s a good pick for aquarists who want a distinctive, less-common fish and are prepared to match its feeding rhythm with a varied frozen diet. Because this fish is less widely kept than many popular reef species, it’s especially important to plan for compatibility and to introduce it carefully into a mature, stable tank.

Features:

• Nocturnal feeding pattern—offer food in the evening when it’s most active
• Accepts a varied diet of quality frozen foods (best offered as a mix)
• Choose a mature, stable saltwater aquarium before adding this fish
• Acclimate slowly on arrival to reduce stress
• Provide a quiet spot in the tank so it can settle in after introduction
• Before you buy, research adult size, diet, and suitable tankmates for your specific setup
