About this fish
The Neon Velvet Damsel is a saltwater damselfish sold under the scientific name Neoglyphidodon oxyodon. It’s a practical choice for a home reef or fish-only aquarium because damselfish are generally hardy and active, with bold color and constant movement that helps bring the tank to life. In a reef setup, it is commonly considered reef safe with corals.

- Often described as reef safe with corals, helping it fit into mixed reef aquascapes
- Can become territorial as it matures, so choose tankmates thoughtfully

- When it arrives, acclimate it slowly and allow it time to settle in a calmer area of the tank
