About this coral
About this coral
Interstellar Yuma is a reef “mushroom” coral sold under the shop name Interstellar Yuma. Mushroom corals are typically used as beginner-friendly hardy additions to a reef aquarium, prized for their forgiving nature and their ability to thrive under a wide range of common reef setups. Practical use: place it on the rockwork where its tissue can attach securely, and it will serve as a low-fuss centerpiece for soft, flowing movement in the tank.
Features:
- Beginner-friendly soft coral group with low requirements, making it a common choice for new reef keepers
- Tissue is usually resilient and can recover well when kept stable in the tank’s lighting and flow
- Generally benefits from moderate lighting (mushrooms rely heavily on light for energy)
- Prefer gentle, indirect water movement rather than strong blasting flow
- Helps add movement and color variation to rockscape without the stricter demands of many stony corals
- Best kept on stable, secure mounting/rock areas to reduce repeated contact and stress
