Product details
The HI-781 Hanna Low Range Nitrate No3 Checker is a handheld nitrate test colorimeter for saltwater aquariums and marine applications. It measures low nitrate concentrations using a colorimetric method, giving a digital readout so you can avoid visual color matching. Nitrate is a by-product of the nitrogen cycle; checking it helps you spot when levels are trending high (which can encourage unwanted organisms like algae and dinoflagellates) or when levels are too low for stable nutrient balance. The HI-781 is dedicated to nitrate measurement and is specifically developed to work with seawater samples.
Features:
- Digital readout eliminates guesswork from visual color matching
- Dedicated instrument for measuring nitrate in saltwater samples
- Designed for the low range nitrate interval (0.00 to 5.00 ppm as NO3–)
- Includes a built-in timer to help you stay on the required step timing
- Uses the Beer–Lambert principle via colorimetry for a quantitative result
- Uses an LED light source and a silicon photocell detector for consistent measurement
- Appropriate for routine aquarium testing and marine biology use cases
- Auto-off after ten minutes of non-use to help conserve battery life
