About this fish
About this fish
Green Chromis is a saltwater damselfish, commonly sold as Chromis viridis, for the home reef aquarium. It’s a popular choice because damselfish and chromis are generally hardy, active, and colorful, making them well-suited to everyday tank viewing. As a practical benefit, Green Chromis are typically considered reef-safe with corals, so you can enjoy schooling behavior without needing to keep a fish-only setup.
Features:
- Generally hardy, colorful, and active—great for lively display tanks
- Chromis are usually more peaceful than many other damselfish, especially when kept in groups
- Reef-safe with corals in typical home aquarium setups
- Provide plenty of rock so the fish can establish a comfortable area
- Feed small frozen foods and quality flakes or pellets once or twice daily
- Acclimate slowly when it arrives and give it a quiet spot to settle in
