About this fish
About this fish
Golden Angelfish (No DOA Guarantee) is a marine angelfish sold for the home saltwater aquarium. The scientific name provided for this fish is Centropyge aurantia. It’s commonly chosen for its bold appearance and active behavior, and it can serve as a focal fish in an established tank with live rock for grazing. Note that this item is sold without a dead-on-arrival guarantee.
Features:
- Marine angelfish with eye-catching color and patterns that can change as it grows
- Often browses live rock in search of natural foods, helping it behave more like a typical reef fish
- Best kept in a tank that includes live rock and room to swim
- May pick at corals and clam mantles, so it’s not automatically reef-safe—research your specific display before adding
- Feed a varied diet rather than relying on one food type
- Acclimate slowly and provide a quieter area in the tank so it can settle
Specifications:
- Scientific name: Centropyge aurantia
- Category: Angelfish (marine)
- Diet: Varied foods including quality frozen foods, sponge-based formulas, and algae several times a day
- Tank setup guidance: Include live rock and provide swimming space
- Temperament / compatibility: May nip/pick at corals and clam mantles; plan reef use accordingly
- Stocking guidance: Keep only one angelfish per tank unless the system is very large
- Arrival note: Sold without a dead-on-arrival (DOA) guarantee
