Product details
ESV B-Ionic Buffer 64oz is a two-component liquid supplement system designed to help maintain calcium and carbonate alkalinity in reef and marine aquariums. Practical use: dose equal volumes of Component A and Component B daily, then use testing to dial in the amount your aquarium needs to support calcification while helping stabilize inorganic ions. This product is commonly used as a straightforward alternative to powders when managing major parameters such as alkalinity and calcium.
Features:
- Two-component liquid system: dose equal volumes of Component A (carbonate alkalinity) and Component B (calcium)
- Supports calcium and carbonate alkalinity needed for calcification
- Helps maintain ionic balance by supplying major, minor, and trace elements in ratios intended to resemble natural seawater
- Does not contain phosphates or nitrates
- Starting guidance for dosing: begin with 1 ml of each component per 4 gallons of aquarium capacity per day, then adjust based on test results
- To avoid overdosing, do not exceed 1 ml per gallon per 24-hour period for each component and do not allow pH to rise above 8.45
Specifications:
- Package size: 64 oz total (2 x 32 oz bottles)
- Starting daily dose: 1 ml of Component A + 1 ml of Component B per 4 gallons aquarium capacity
- Alkalinity target guidance: Maintain alkalinity between 3.0 and 3.75 meq/L (8.4 to 10.5 dKH) by testing daily and adjusting dose accordingly
- Max dose limit: Never add more than 1 ml per gallon of each component in a 24 hour period
- pH limit: Never allow pH to rise above 8.45
- Component A (Carbonate Alkalinity) concentration: 2800 meq/L (7840 dKH)
- Component A dosing effect: 1 ml per gallon raises alkalinity by 0.74 meq/L (2.07 dKH)
- Component B (Calcium) concentration: 54,000 ppm calcium ion
- Component B dosing effect: 1 ml per gallon raises calcium concentration by 16 ppm
