About this fish
About this fish
Clarki Clown Med is a home saltwater aquarium clownfish sold under the name “Clarki Clown,” with the scientific name Amphiprion clarkii. This reef fish is a classic choice for aquarists who want an active, personable centerpiece fish. In practice, it provides engaging behavior in the tank and, like many clownfish, may show natural hosting behavior with suitable invertebrates such as some corals or anemones (anemones are not required).
Features:
- Clownfish are widely regarded as hardy reef fish that adapt well to established saltwater aquariums
- Wild-caught origin helps explain why it may be a bit shy at first before settling in
- Strong personality and active swimming make it a great display fish
- Clarki Clown Med typically does not need an anemone, though hosting with anemones or some corals is common in clownfish behavior
- They can be territorial toward their own kind, so keep one pair per tank for best results
- Generally reef safe and often compatible with many peaceful community fish
- Feed a varied diet such as frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and quality pellets to support regular feeding
