Chemi-pure Boyd Blue 5.5oz is a filter media blend designed to help improve aquarium water clarity and reduce dissolved pollutants through adsorption and ion exchange. It’s used in marine setups (including reef and jellyfish systems) as well as high pH freshwater aquariums and is also listed as an excellent option for African cichlids. Practically, it’s placed in a high-flow area of your filter to provide contact time while water passes through the media.

• Includes pelletized activated carbon that helps target organics, odors, phenols, toxins, and dissolved metals
• Uses two high-grade hybrid ion exchange resins for a synergistic filtration approach
• Designed to help reduce phosphates and silicates, and to some extent nitrates
• QuickWash Carbon™ is a special 0.8mm extruded, pelletized carbon designed to offer more surface area than the original carbon
• Low ash carbon and quick rinsing are intended to reduce fine carbon dust and help lower the potential for HLLE
• Intended to be placed in a sump, canister filter, or HOB filter bag where water flow passes through the media
