Chemi-pure Boyd Blue 11oz is a filter media designed to improve water quality by adsorbing a range of dissolved organics and other unwanted compounds. It’s commonly used in reef, marine, jellyfish, and high pH freshwater aquariums to support clearer water and help manage issues associated with buildup of organics, phenols, and certain dissolved substances. Practically, it’s placed in a high-flow filtration area (such as a sump, canister filter, or HOB) as an additional media step to complement your biological filtration.
