Aussie Rainbow Inferno Button Scoly

About this coral

Aussie Rainbow Inferno Button Scoly is an LPS (large-polyp stony) coral sold as a “button scoly” type showpiece. In a reef aquarium, it’s kept primarily for its bold, fleshy polyp display and as a focal coral that benefits from stable conditions, controlled water movement, and regular feeding. Group-level guidance below applies to button scoly/scoly-type LPS corals, since named color-morph traits are not the same as a confirmed scientific species.

Features:

• LPS button-scoly style with a fleshy polyp display that can become a centerpiece in mature reef setups
• Typically suited to moderate lighting so the coral can maintain good tissue condition without being blasted by intense flow
• Prefers gentle, indirect water movement rather than strong, direct jets
• Often benefits from targeted feeding of appropriate meaty foods to support growth and color (in addition to photosynthesis)
• Stays territorial with nearby corals; plan spacing so sweeper/defensive contact is less likely
• Does best in tanks with stable reef chemistry and consistent maintenance
