About this coral
About this coral
Aussie Paint Splatter Trachy is an LPS (large polyp stony) coral from the “trachy” group, commonly kept as a colorful, fleshy sandbed-style reef coral. In practical terms, it’s used as an eye-catching centerpiece LPS that benefits from a stable, low-stress environment and appropriate placement so its fleshy tissue can settle in comfortably on the substrate.
Features:
- LPS coral from the trachy/wellsophy group, known for fleshy, sandbed-style living behavior
- Typically appreciates moderate, stable aquarium conditions to help maintain healthy tissue expansion
- Generally prefers moderate water movement (enough to keep detritus from settling without blasting the coral)
- Often looks best when placed where it can sit undisturbed on the substrate and extend its polyps
- As an LPS, it can benefit from routine feeding of appropriately sized meaty foods provided for reef corals
