ASD Optimus Prime Chalice

About this coral

The ASD Optimus Prime Chalice is a large polyp stony (LPS) coral that belongs to a group of corals prized for their distinctive cup-shaped or plate-like formations and striking coloration patterns. Chalice corals serve both as captivating focal points and textural elements in reef aquariums. These corals are semi-aggressive and require adequate spacing from neighboring corals due to their tendency to extend sweeper tentacles when feeding.

Features:

• Moderate care level suitable for intermediate aquarists with stable water conditions
• Semi-aggressive temperament; requires spacing from other corals to prevent stinging
• Benefits from both photosynthesis and occasional target feeding with meaty foods
• Typically exhibits moderate growth rate, expanding outward over time
• Adaptable to varying light intensities but thrives in lower to moderate lighting
• Low to moderate water flow prevents debris accumulation while avoiding excessive tissue movement
