ASD Golden Tips Tenuis

About this coral

ASD Golden Tips Tenuis is an SPS coral sold under the shop name for the Acropora group. In practice, Acropora are used to build bright, branching SPS aquascapes that benefit most from intense reef lighting and strong, consistent water movement. This listing name suggests an Acropora tenuis–type “tenuis” form, but color-morph naming may not reflect a separate species; treat it as general Acropora care guidance for best results.

Features:

• Acropora/SPS growth style that typically forms branching or delicate stony growth, making it well-suited to the middle to upper rockscape
• Benefits from strong lighting to support photosynthesis in its symbiotic algae
• Prefers high, turbulent flow to help keep tissue clean and deliver nutrients efficiently
• Does best in a system with stable reef water chemistry rather than frequent swings
• A good choice for aquarists already maintaining SPS-ready parameters and lighting/flow equipment

Specifications:

• Care level (general guidance): SPS / Acropora: generally considered advanced, best for stable, well-established reef systems
• Light: Strong lighting (typical for SPS/Acropora)
• Water flow: High, turbulent flow
• Placement: Mid to upper rockwork where light is strongest and flow reaches the coral
• Water stability: Stable reef parameters; avoid rapid changes
• Diet: Primarily light-driven; also benefits from good water quality with naturally available dissolved/particulate nutrients
• Key chemistry to maintain (within your system targets): Alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium appropriate for reef aquaria
