About this fish
Blue Throat Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis) is a reef-dwelling wrasse for a home saltwater aquarium. As an active rockwork swimmer, it adds movement and behavior that many aquarists enjoy, while also helping with certain aquarium pests like flatworms and bristle worms. This species is typically kept as a hardy, personality-rich addition to established tanks where it can feed well and feel secure at night.
Features:
- Active, colorful wrasse that cruises the rockwork during the day
- Often considered reef compatible, with many wrasses known to be reef safe
- May help control pests such as flatworms and bristle worms
- Typically benefits from a sand bed, since many wrasses bury in the sand or hide in a mucus cocoon at night
- Tends to be a strong jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is important
- Accepts a range of meaty frozen foods and quality prepared foods when offered appropriately
- When it arrives, slow acclimation and a quiet settling area can help reduce stress
