About this fish
Pintail Wrasse Male is a Cirrhilabrus lanceolatus wrasse for the home saltwater aquarium. It’s an active, colorful fish that spends much of the day cruising and picking around the rockwork, making it a lively centerpiece while also helping control certain aquarium pests.
Features:
- Active swimmer that cruises the rockwork throughout the day
- Often considered reef safe and may help with pest control such as flatworms and bristle worms
- Diet can be built around frozen mysis and brine shrimp plus quality pellets
- Appreciates a tank with a sand bed since many wrasses bury in the sand at night
- Some wrasses also use a mucus cocoon behavior at night, so provide stable cover and minimal disturbance
- A tight lid is important—wrasses are strong jumpers
- When it arrives, acclimate it slowly and give it a quiet spot to settle before introducing it to full tank activity
