Clown Trigger Large

About this fish

The Clown Trigger Large is a marine triggerfish for the home saltwater aquarium, identified as Balistoides conspicillum. It’s a bold, personality-driven fish commonly kept with live rock in fish-only setups, where its strong jaw and active behavior can be enjoyed while reducing risk to sensitive tankmates.

Features:

• Bold, intelligent temperament with a strong feeding response and big personality.
• Typically best suited to a fish-only aquarium setup with live rock and appropriately robust tankmates.
• Use care when choosing tankmates, as many triggerfish are aggressive and will eat invertebrates.
• Diet typically centers on meaty foods such as krill, squid, and clam (including feeding on the shell to help keep teeth in good condition).
• Acclimate slowly when it arrives to help reduce stress.
• Provide a quiet settling spot in the tank so the fish can adjust after placement.
