Emperor Snapper

About this fish

Emperor Snapper is a predatory marine fish for larger, mature home saltwater aquariums, sold as “Emperor Snapper (Lutjanus sebae).” In practice, it’s a bold centerpiece fish for keepers who want something different from typical community species. Because it’s a hunter, it’s best used in tanks where other animals are appropriately sized and it can be fed a consistent carnivorous diet.

Features:

• Predatory, fish-focused feeding behavior makes it unsuitable for very small tankmates
• Best added to a mature, stable system to support successful settling and long-term health
• Will do best with a varied menu of quality frozen foods to encourage consistent feeding
• When it arrives, acclimate slowly and allow a quiet space to reduce stress while it settles
• Temperament and tankmate compatibility are important—ask us before ordering if you’re planning an in-tank community
• Stock changes often, so availability can vary by shipment
