Homegrown Neon Hammer

About this coral

Homegrown Neon Hammer is an LPS (large-polyp stony) coral from the Euphyllia “hammer coral” group (Euphyllia sp.). In a reef aquarium, this coral is used as a centerpiece, providing bold, flowing polyp movement and a classic hammer-corals look while benefiting from consistent, reef-style water conditions and appropriate light and flow.

Features:

• Hammer-style fleshy polyps that add strong visual presence to an LPS reef
• Generally does best under moderate lighting rather than blasting, direct intensity
• Thrives with medium, steady water movement that helps keep polyps expanded
• A good candidate for aquarists building a mixed reef with other LPS corals
• Often benefits from occasional supplemental feeding with appropriately sized meaty foods
• Like many LPS, it typically prefers stable conditions and gradual changes rather than abrupt shifts
• Practical choice for aquascapes where you can provide a consistent “sweet spot” for flow and light
