Blue Eye Tang

About this fish

Blue Eye Tang (Ctenochaetus binotatus) is a grazing tang for the home saltwater aquarium. It’s an active, open-water swimmer that spends much of its time grazing algae, helping you maintain a more natural algae balance while adding bold presence to a reef-style setup.

Features:

• Active, continuously moving grazer that benefits from open swimming space
• Diet centered on regular algae/seaweed intake to support everyday health
• Can be territorial toward other tangs, so introduction planning matters
• Typically reef safe with corals, making it a good fit for mixed reef aquariums
• Sharp spine near the tail—handle with care and avoid stressful chase dynamics
• Slow acclimation helps reduce stress when your Blue Eye Tang arrives
