About this fish
About this fish
Orbic Batfish is a saltwater reef fish sold under the name Platax orbicularis. In a home aquarium, it’s a striking, “different from the usual” centerpiece fish that benefits from being kept in a mature, stable system and offered a varied diet. For best results, plan ahead for the fish’s eventual size, feeding needs, and compatible tankmates before ordering—then acclimate it slowly so it can settle in comfortably.
Features:
- Sold as Orbic Batfish (Platax orbicularis) in multiple size options to match your current setup
- A good choice for keepers looking for an unusual reef fish and a more attention-grabbing aquarium centerpiece
- Does best in a mature, stable saltwater system rather than a newly set up tank
- Feed it a varied diet of quality frozen foods to support healthy condition
- Provide a quiet spot so the fish can settle after acclimation
- Stock changes often, so call ahead for current Orbic Batfish price and availability and ask us about tankmates and setup before you order
