About this coral
About this coral
Indo Holy Grail Torch is an LPS (large polyp stony) coral in the Euphyllia group. It’s a torch-style Euphyllia that uses long, fleshy tentacles to capture food from the water column and, when available, from targeted feeding. In a reef aquarium, it’s typically used as a centerpiece coral because Euphyllia polyps extend for feeding and help create natural-looking movement in moderate flow and lighting.
Features:
- Euphyllia-style growth with tentacles that extend to feed, creating a lively display
- Generally prefers moderate light and medium flow for healthy polyp extension (group-level guidance)
- Benefits from stable reef water conditions and consistent placement in the same area of the tank
- Can be territorial with neighboring corals—keep adequate spacing to reduce contact between tentacles
- May accept supplemental feeding (such as finely sized meaty foods) in addition to naturally available plankton
Specifications:
- Scientific group: Euphyllia (torch coral-style LPS)
- Care level: Intermediate (typical for Euphyllia)
- Light: Moderate light
- Water flow: Medium flow
- Placement: On the rock where it can maintain steady polyp extension; allow space from other corals
- Diet: Carnivorous/predatory; captures plankton and can be offered appropriately sized supplemental meaty foods
- Temperature: Typical reef range, about 24–27°C (75–81°F)
- Salinity: Reef salinity, about 1.023–1.026 SG
