About this coral
About this coral
ASD Lemon Peel Acan Lord is an LPS (large polyp stony) coral in the “acan” group (typically Acanthastrea). In an aquarium, it’s mainly kept for its fleshy, sweep-feeding polyps and a natural-looking, textured growth form. This coral is often used as a centerpiece LPS that benefits from targeted feeding and moderate conditions, making it a good fit for reef tanks where stable water quality and regular spot-feeding are possible.
Features:
- LPS “acan” polyps are well suited to aquariums that can provide regular, small feedings
- Generally prefers moderate light rather than intense top-down lighting
- Tolerates moderate water movement; avoid blasting flow directly at the tissue
- Does best on stable rock placement where it can extend and retract polyps comfortably
- Coral growth and polyp activity improve when feeding supplements the light-driven energy from symbiotic algae
- Adds rich LPS texture and movement as polyps extend and feed during appropriate times
